ONCE UPON A TIME...

There was a woman named Cynthia who dreamed of combining her love of theatre, improv, and nerdy sh*t into a beast of a show that would be loved by all.

Mini Quest Tavern was formed in early 2025, having its first show at HOST WENATCHEE with 2 sold out shows and a cast desiring to do it all again. Cynthia Brown founded the concept and put together a team of local performers, TTRPG fans, and improv masters (every single one of them a nerd to their very bone).  In Early January, MQT had it's first rehearsal. We realized pretty early on that a script written in the "Choose-your-own-adventure" was needed, and combat and puzzles would need to be simplified but still entertaining.

After our first show at HOST WENATCHEE, we got back to the writing board, adjusting what worked and scrapping what didn't. With a second show planned in May of 2025 at the WENATCHEE VALLEY CULTURAL CENTER & MUSEUM, our team wrote a new script with some new characters, new decisions, and made it family friendly. Again, we sold out 2 shows, and had many patrons asking when our next event would be. We added a voting poll to our shows to allow guests to submit what theme of show they'd like to see, and with an overwhelming count of "Pirates" being the pick, we got at it once more.

Our third show was the biggest one yet, featured at the NUMERICA PERFORMING ARTS CENTER on a much bigger stage. We had more characters, more puzzles, more comedy, and even fit a giant squid to fly in from the rafters! It was a show to remember, and with our first matinee being well attended, our evening show (for adults only) was sold out.

Mini Quest Tavern has become a locally original production, beloved by the community for it's quirkiness, variety, and, most importantly- its nerdy themes to fantasy and Dungeons & Dragons references. When we started MQT, we wanted to connect with the TTRPG fans of the Wenatchee Valley and beyond. We continue to pursue this goal with future endeavors planned, and hope to see you next time at the Mini Quest Tavern.
